I had the same issue as many here, but my A4 B6 with BKE engine has 5-speed manual gearbox. I did remove the top covers and that ring around the ball looked alot like the one some here were buying. Now, for my box ETKA shows only shift mechanism as one part. But i looked up on Passat B5 and A6 C5, there you can see all the parts as individual, and box looks quite similar. So i ordered part number 8D0 711 279 at the local VAG dealer, price here is ~72 HRK which is ~41 Zloty. I figured if it does not fit, i won't be at big loss. Now i am writing this here with my hands still half-dirty - just finished fitting all back together. Yes, that part fits perfectly on 5-speed box too. If i knew it would fit, i would replace the two part rubber ring as well. But there it is for anyone in doubt and with 5-speed box, this part fits. In few days i will put up video up on YT as i have filmed some comparison videos (how loose it was before, how tight it is now) and pictures of my old part vs new one. Cheers all!
